Business Development Executive Requirements:
- 4 years of business development experience in the insurance industry, with 2 years in workers compensation
- A current P&C Insurance license or willing to reinstate
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment within commercial insurance
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding premium growth targets in a competitive market
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence agency partners and key stakeholders
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop data-driven strategies to optimize business growth
- Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office, etc.) and exposure to insurance software, salesforce experience preferred
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Business Development Executive Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with insurance agency partners, including general brokerage and niche program partnerships, to drive business growth and engagement
- Develop and execute strategic business plans focused on achieving aggressive premium growth goals, targeting a $5M gross written premium in the first year
- Partner with underwriting teams to manage account submissions, optimize pricing strategies, and ensure a streamlined and efficient quoting process
- Engage in consultative sales discussions, educating agency partners on company products, underwriting appetite, and risk management solutions
- Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities for expansion within the workers' compensation space
- Utilize Salesforce, LinkedIn Navigator, and Apollo to track pipeline activity, monitor key performance metrics, and drive informed decision-making
- Deliver compelling presentations and sales pitches, tailoring messaging to effectively communicate value propositions and differentiate offerings in the market
- Develop and nurture strong agency relationships through consistent follow-ups, in-person meetings, and industry event participation to expand brand presence and drive new opportunities
