The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Revenue Strategy and Enablement, the Business Development Coordinator (“BDC”) collaborates with both the sales and marketing teams within UNC Executive Development. The BDC supports the Director to help land net new business opportunities with prospective clients, including Fortune 500 companies and government organizations. The BDC is responsible for a combination of business development and sales operations processes, tools, and technologies in support of managing and qualifying inbound sales leads in Salesforce.

The BDC is responsible for a combination of business development and sales operations processes, tools, and technologies in support of managing and qualifying inbound sales leads in Salesforce.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the inbound sales lead allocation and qualification process using Salesforce, for both corporate and government leads. Collaborate with the marketing team to support demand generation processes by pre-qualifying and following up on marketing qualified leads.
- Support the Director of Revenue Strategy & Enablement to maintain and manage sales tools, including Salesforce and Pardot data, in support of lead generation efforts and overall data integrity in Salesforce. Meet and coordinate with the Director regularly to align on inbound lead responses, follow-ups, and targeted outbound efforts.
- Thoroughly assess prospects through a sales qualification process and, when needed, set up sales meetings.
- Support lead generation activities tied to external conferences and events including outreach, follow-up, and data entry.
- Research and identify potential clients, key decision-makers, industry contacts, and new opportunities in the market.
- Increase volume and quality of qualified sales leads through targeted outreach campaigns and activities, in close collaboration with the sales and marketing teams.
- Clearly and enthusiastically pitch UNC Executive Development’s mission, value proposition, and capabilities to prospective clients.
- Assist with maintaining internal training materials to further develop Salesforce skill sets throughout the organization.
- Support the planning and execution of prospective client visits and events at the Rizzo Center, the Charlotte campus, and elsewhere as needed.
- Participate in planning for and attending conferences and client meetings as needed. Under the direction of the Director of Revenue Strategy and Enablement, establish quarterly lead generation and meeting goals based on inbound and outbound strategies.
- Other sales, marketing, and support responsibilities as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree, 2 years' experience in business development, pre-sales, corporate sales, bid management, and/or similar or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when interacting with executive-level prospects and clients.
- Expertise using Salesforce is required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional presence required.
- Experience using technologies such as Pardot and Asana (or other project management tools) is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with marketing teams on sales, marketing, and demand generation strongly preferred.
Competitive Compensation
- $55,000-65,000 annual base salary, plus a performance-based component
