Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician III B to join our team at Bowhead / UIC Technical Services. This role requires a strong background in electrical and mechanical skills, with a focus on design modification, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design specifications and materials.
- Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.
- Use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data.
- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
- Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports.
- Conduct analyses of data using mathematic and engineering principles.
- Assist the lead project technician during experiment execution.
- Hook up and set up electronic data recording devices and equipment.
- Design projectile components, fixtures, and miscellaneous hardware.
- Generate engineering drawings suitable for fabrication processes.
Requirements
An Associate degree or completion of a trade school program is required. Minimum five years of professional experience with three years directly related to this position is also required. Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite are necessary. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts is crucial.
