What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tier 2 Support Engineer (MSP) position at Bowman Williams?
We’re a well-established MSP specializing in cloud and security solutions for businesses, with a strong focus on work-life balance and career growth. We’re currently looking for a skilled Tier 2 Support Engineer (MSP) with solid MSP experience to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you’ll provide escalated support, handle onsite visits, participate in large projects, and deliver Tier 2 helpdesk support in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Day to Day:
- Resolve 12-14 Tier 2 tickets daily from a queue of 15-20 with effective solutions
- Communicate clearly and consistently with clients to keep them informed
- Keep assigned tickets organized and up to date
- Conduct periodic onsite visits to client locations
- Collaborate with team members on large-scale IT projects
Experience and Technical Knowledge:
- 1 year of Tier 2 IT support experience within an MSP environment
- Proficiency with Windows Server and desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11, Server 2016 )
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including user and device management via Azure Entra ID
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and VMware
- Working knowledge of backup solutions and business continuity tools
- Experience supporting firewalls, routers, and switches (preferably with brands like SonicWall, Fortinet, or Ubiquiti)
- Proficiency with RMM and PSA tools (such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, or N-able)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices
