The Registration Specialist process member applications and renewals. Maintain the membership database, mailing lists, and records. Answer inquiries, prepare correspondence, and register members/customers via telephone, internet or direct mail.
Process donor pledges and payments. Maintain the donor database, mailing lists, and records. Answer inquiries, prepare correspondence, and assist donors via telephone, internet or direct mail.
Responsibilities
- Process unit charters and adult & youth membership applications timely & accurately, adhering to current BSA Membership validation procedures.
- Process donations and pledge donations. Send monthly billing statements.
- Maintain files and file storage room.
- Conduct criminal background checks (CBC) on all adult applications; ensure that all CBC’s are cleared in a timely manner. Review any issues with the Scout executive/CEO.
- Support customers with issues related to online training, advancement, membership renewal, re-charter, and donor records.
- Download and provide reports as requested.
Education
High School diploma or some college preferred
Qualifications
- Complete Registrar certification within first year in position. Stay current on BSA Membership procedures.
- Possess skills in computer/data entry, verbal and written communication, multiple concurrent tasks, customer relations, detailed work, record keeping, problem solving, stress management, confidentiality and reasoning.
- Possess computer and POS skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work with others to ensure council and BSA policies and guidelines are followed.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Be dependable, organized, and flexible
