PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Accounting & Human Resource Coordinator will support the Finance Director by accurately recording accounts payable, allocation of expenses to grants and receivable transactions, and completing monthly general accounting tasks. The coordinator will also serve as an important role in administration by overseeing HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processing.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Record day-to-day financial transactions timely and accurately
Enter data, maintain records, verify accuracy, and create reports
Maintain favorable relationship with vendor accounts
Manage employee hiring and onboarding process
Oversee the job posting process and recruitment
Conduct background checks and employment verification
Maintain employee records
Assist in the annual audit
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintain & organize financial office operations and procedures, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions
Conducting payroll corrections
Completing annual background checks and ensuring staff compliance by annual BGCA training
Serve as HR liaison for employee questions
Assist in the documentation and development of standard operating procedures
RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal : Maintains close, daily contact with the finance director to support the day-to-day accounting needs
Maintain regular contact with the leadership team to assist in posting jobs and the hiring process
External : Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, payroll company
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :
Proven bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and payables / receivable principles
Hands-on experience with Quickbooks Online or other similar software, Excel, and Google Suite
The high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
A positive attitude that aligns with mission-driven culture
Experience with ADP, Paycor or similar payroll software
Associate degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent associates with proven work experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and proper automobile insurance
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds for short periods of time.
