Hourly Rate: Starting at $23.00/hour
Pay Range: $23.00 to $30.00/hour
Hours: Up to 29 hours/week, occasional evening and weekend hours
Location: Truancy Reduction Center and various locations in Orange County
Job Summary: Develop individualized treatment plans for youth and families experiencing truancy. Act as main point of contact for corresponding service planning areas (North, Central, and South Orange County). Maintain consistent communication with referring agents. Complete intake process, provide psychoeducation on attendance laws, conduct mental health assessment, individual, group and family treatment and parent education. Provide comprehensive case management and other related support services to eligible at-risk students, parents, and families. Attend various SARB’S (Student Attendance Review Board Meetings) collaborative and networking meetings throughout the county both in-person and virtual. Attend school and District Attorney truancy meetings. Responsible for meeting weekly productivity expectations and maintaining accurate and up to date case records of all services rendered in accordance with state and county regulations, while maintaining an active caseload. Continued collaboration with Orange County Department of Education and Orange County District Attorney’s office for continued case collaboration for student success and well-being.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Support programs, activities and services that prepare youth and families for success by incorporating the organization’s mission

Create an environment that promotes the physical, social and emotional well-being of youth and their families through providing youth and parents support towards improving child’s functioning and ensuring basic needs and psychiatric services are coordinated and accessed in a timely manner

Ensure the locations used meet health and safety standards and ensure the safety of all members
-
Take actions to prevent accidents and respond to injury and signs of illness

Communicate any safety concerns to supervisor

Practice sound judgment regarding safety; ability to adapt and be flexible; ability to uphold the organization’s mission and values

Effectively support the planning, development and implementation of truancy mediation and parent empowerment programs and services

Adhere to proper documentation procedures and processes according to Orange County and Behavioral Board of Science standards

Attend SARB’s (Student Attendance Review Board) hearings

Attend and present truancy mediation services at District Attorney school meetings
-
Maintain strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to follow-up and manage demanding caseload
-
Effectively monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities through completing weekly client services log, pre/post surveys, and direct services hour logs and submitting to supervisor and applicable stakeholders

Ensure a productive work environment by working as a member of a team, contributing to team meetings, and providing feedback to support decision-making

Develop own knowledge and skills in each of the various Community Health Programs in order to diversify skills

Develop own knowledge and skills in each of the various Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove’s programs in order to diversify skills and integrate self into the community and organization as a whole

Be resourceful and possess a knowledge of community based mental health services

Effectively uses Microsoft Office programs, electronic scheduling and database software

Manage active caseload of 5-15

Complete daily process notes for each client within 24 hours and keep client information up to date

Collaborate with all community partners regarding case’s

Document all services rendered including phone contact, completed services, case notes, referrals, etc. in database
-
Build partnerships with parents, families, referring agents, other BGCGG program staff and community partners
-
Increase the visibility of BGC-CHS programs, services and activities through networking opportunities, outreach and community partnerships
-
Share event announcements, program updates and distribute program flyers at events, meetings and when communicating with the community and BGCGG
-
Promote and assist with BGCGG organizational events in addition to supporting organizational fundraising efforts
-
Maintain close, daily contact with staff members and supervisors to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel
-
Use exceptionally strong verbal and writing skills; must be able to communicate needs and concerns clearly and document services and correspondence in a clear and concise manner in accordance with program standards

Maintain contact regularly with external community groups, schools, social workers, clients, BGC-CHS partners and others to promote and ensure family information and referral services are successful

Maintain a high level of phone and email etiquette

Qualifications
Qualifications

At least 21 years of age
-
Bilingual capabilities preferred
-
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field
-
Currently enrolled in a Masters of Social Work program or Social Worker intern or an ASW preferred
-
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred
-
Currently registered with the BBS and must maintain current registration throughout employment
-

Must have and maintain valid Professional Liability Insurance (Malpractice Insurance)
-
At least 1 year of experience working with children/adolescents and families experiencing distress (2 years preferred)
-
At least 6 months of experience working with groups (1 year preferred)
-
Able speak in front of large and small groups
-
Experience with case management and knowledge in case management philosophy and function
-
Ability to use a variety of computer software applications, specifically, Excel, Word, Publisher and Outlook
-
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records, following up on phone calls, receiving and documenting payments, completing reports, and tracking data
-
Must be available to attend a maximum of 2 hours/week clinical supervision based on a consistent schedule for the entire school year
-
Reliable transportation, safe driving record, valid CA driver license, at least 2 years of driving experience and current automobile insurance
-
Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist; seeing to review and analyze reports, documents or other reports; hearing and speaking to communicate and provide information to others; speaking to be heard before groups of people; position may require to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects between 10-20 pounds
