Position Overview:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts. This role focuses on cultivating relationships with individuals and securing foundation support. The Director of Development will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy targeting individuals, donor-advised funds, and foundations
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, ensuring effective stewardship and engagement
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to support the organization's programs and initiatives
• Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports to foundations and other funding sources
• Collaborate with the Resource Development Team, CEO, and program staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals
• Plan and execute individual giving campaigns as well as major donors and planned giving initiatives
• Lead the Club Beyond initiative to engage alumni
• Assist with the organization's brand and marketing strategies such as impact reports, social media, email campaigns & website.
• Assist in planning and executing fundraising events to increase donor engagement and support
• Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, ensuring timely and personalized communication
• Track and report on fundraising progress, providing regular updates to the Board and senior leadership
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and foundation grants
• Strong understanding of donor-advised funds and experience in managing such relationships
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of initiative and attention to detail
• Passion for the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people
