Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, supplies and equipment necessary for construction projects.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable delivery timelines.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent material shortages or delays.
- Manage the scheduling and timing of materials orders to align with project timelines and milestones.
- Analyze project specifications and collaborate with project managers to forecast purchasing needs.
- Research and evaluate new suppliers, materials and cost-savings opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts and vendor performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent in the residential construction and home building industry.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze market trends and pricing structures.
- Proficiency in relevant purchasing and inventory software (experience with Buildxact is a plus)
- Knowledge of construction materials and industry regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
