Position Overview and Key Responsibilities: Seeking a P&C Insurance business domain expert with strong experience in Business Data Analytics. Must have an excellent understanding of core P&C Insurance functions like Claims, Underwriting, Broker Systems, Policy Administration Systems (PAS), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to claims underwriting, expense ratio, and loss ratio. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with broker systems and a solid grasp of the broker ecosystem within P&C insurance. This role requires excellent communication skills, and a mature professional with exceptional communication skills to engage senior stakeholders, gather and filter requirements effectively, and provide strategic insights.
- Key Deliverables:
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports for business insights.
- Design and implement data visualization solutions leveraging Azure Data Factory power platform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
- Leverage expertise in P&C insurance to develop relevant analytics and reporting solutions.
- Business & Data Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify key insights for claims underwriting and other P&C functions.
- Analyze large datasets using Power BI to extract actionable insights.
- Develop data mapping and transformation strategies to ensure smooth data integration across systems.
- Work with SQL, PL/SQL, SSRS, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Snowflake, etc.) to support data analysis and reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Requirement Gathering:
- Engage with senior stakeholders to elicit business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
- Ask intelligent and structured questions to filter relevant information from extensive stakeholder inputs.
- Document business requirements clearly and concisely, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Claims, Underwriting & P&C Expertise:
- Leverage domain expertise to drive improvements in claims and underwriting processes.
- Monitor and analyze key insurance metrics, such as expense ratio and loss ratio, to optimize business performance.
- Ensure alignment with industry regulations and best practices.
- Broker System & Ecosystem Knowledge:
- Apply practical experience working with broker systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Understand and optimize the interactions between brokers, insurers, and policyholders within the P&C space.
- Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with business, development, and QA teams to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
- Provide knowledge transition and training to other team members as needed.
- Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism while engaging with stakeholders.
Key Qualifications for this Role
- 8 years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Analysis & Reporting, and P&C Insurance Application support as an Analyst.
- 5 years of experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
- Strong claims underwriting and P&C domain knowledge with expertise in expense ratio and loss ratio analysis.
- Experience working with broker systems and the broker ecosystem within P&C insurance.
- Advanced skills in Power BI, SQL, PL/SQL, and modern cloud data platforms (Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Snowflake preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and requirement-gathering skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Master s degree preferred.
