Job Description
TITLE : 1 : 1 School Nurse for Extended School Year - Summer 2024 (Student Attending a school outside of the District)
We are seeking an experienced RN to provide 1 : 1 clinical care to a BPS pre-school student who is being educated outside of the school district. This job requires the nurse to travel with the student on the school bus to and from school every day, leaving from and returning to the student's home in Braintree. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to :
- Provide 1 : 1 care for student with complex health care needs
- Ride bus with the student before and after school (leaving from the student's home)
- Ensure student safety at all times
- Assess and treat illness, manage chronic disease
- Tracheotomy care
- G-J tube care
- Oxygen administration, observation and monitoring
- Administer medications per orders
- Perform treatments and / or nursing procedures as ordered
- Assist with ADLs and hygiene care
- Work collaboratively with the school district teachers / administration, school staff and health care workers to ensure high quality of care
- Communicates and collaborates with parents regularly
