Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on both commercial and industrial settings.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, and stripping as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Carry out commercial cleaning duties in offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any needs or issues to management promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing custodial duties.
- Act as a porter by moving furniture or equipment as required for events or maintenance activities.
- Engage in industrial cleaning processes when necessary, adhering to specific protocols for safety and effectiveness.
- Occasionally assist with residential painting projects as part of facility upkeep.
Requirements
- Previous experience in custodial services or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and safety within the facility.
