The Senior Manager, Community Screening and Clinical Trial Education will be responsible for specific operational aspects of Breakthrough T1D’s clinical trial education and advancing cell therapies (Project ACT) program. For the clinical trial education program, the senior manager will serve as the central point of contact for clinical trial education volunteers and Breakthrough T1D staff, coordinate the administrative aspects of the Participant Advisory Committee and Clinical Trial Education Volunteer Network, and maintain and coordinate resources for the clinical trial education program. They will also coordinate educational offerings related to clinical trials, including webinars, social media, in person events, and media and print materials. The senior manager will also assist with the development of the Centers of Reference for Advanced T1D Therapies rand will coordinate educational events for Breakthrough T1D staff and constituents about all departmental programs. They will report directly to the AVP, Community Screening and Clinical Trial Education.

Specific Responsibilities
- Work with staff and volunteers in the United States and globally to promote awareness about clinical trials
- Coordinate and support clinical trial education volunteer (CTEV) activities, including scheduling meetings and events, creating and maintaining program resources, and updating web-based resources. Plan and lead clinical trial updates for volunteers and staff from industry, academic, and agency partners.
- Lead department communications with chapter leadership and staff to ensure seamless communication about clinical trials, HCP education, early detection, and other programming
- Serve as CRM liaison for the CSCTE department and liaise cross departmentally to develop protocols and training to ensure adherence to CRM guidance
- Coordinate and execute webinars, social media events, and in person events on to educate Breakthrough T1D staff and volunteers about currently recruiting clinical trials
- Serve as departmental lead and contact with MarCom for clinical trial education including contributing to the marketing and communication strategy, reviewing blogs and print materials, assisting/writing with video scripts, providing content for newsletters, contributing to the social media strategy, and other activities
- Coordinate internal requests for speakers at Breakthrough T1D events (including community summits, donor cultivation events, etc.). Lead and coordinate volunteer speakers and assist with placement at community summits and events, provide onboarding and training, coordinate reimbursement for travel.
- Liaise with internal and international partners to coordinate communications efforts, including Breakthrough T1D affiliates, INNODIA, and others
- Contribute to the clinical trial education strategy including developing process and outcome metrics
- Additional responsibilities:
- Field questions from staff, volunteers, and constituents on the community screening and clinical trial education programs
- Maintain confidentiality and security of Breakthrough T1D and partners’ information.
- Assist with landscape analysis and scouting for new opportunities.
- Assist in establishing and implementing guidelines and standard operating procedures to promote efficiencies.
- Provide written and oral reports and presentations to external and internal stakeholders.
- Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by supervisors.
- Program management experience.
- Strong capacity to learn and utilize medical, technical, scientific information needed to advance project goals.
- Prior work experience in a scientific research environment, clinical care, public health, and/or a not-for-profit organization is preferred.
- Familiarity type 1 diabetes is preferred.
- Experience in organizing and leading committees, giving presentations, and generating written reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff, volunteers, and partners effectively and diplomatically, maintaining confidentiality when appropriate.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment and to balance competing needs.
- Capacity to synthesize diverse information and formulate solutions to meet needs from various perspectives.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and deliver high-quality and timely results.
- Ability to travel 6-8 times per year to NYC HQ, conferences and team meetings.
Education
- Master’s Degree preferred, with 2 or more years of professional work experience
- College Degree or equivalent, with 5-7 or more years of professional work experience
