About the Role:
Our prestigious client is seeking a Datacenter Technician Contractor to join their team at the North Las Vegas Regional Management Center. This role involves supporting a high-performing operations team responsible for maintaining a mission-critical satellite and terrestrial communications network in a 24x7x365 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rack and stack, cable termination, and physical installation of servers, network devices, and infrastructure.
- Monitor power systems, HVAC, fire suppression, and other critical facility infrastructure.
- Conduct routine maintenance, system checks, and diagnostics across baseband, RF, and IF systems.
- Support network monitoring, system alerts, ticketing, and documentation in accordance with ITIL standards.
- Troubleshoot network, IP, and communication system issues while adhering to SLAs.
- Coordinate new buildouts, upgrades, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Manage hardware inventory, software patches, and equipment lifecycle documentation.
- Respond to emergency escalations during non-standard hours as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Person (required due to export control regulations).
- AA degree, electronics certification, or equivalent military technical training.
- 2 years in a data center, SATCOM, or network operations environment.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, and Ethernet standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: CompTIA (A , Network ), CCNA, ITIL, Microsoft, Linux , VMware.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience in SATCOM, RF systems, or telecom infrastructure.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, off-hours, and weekends as part of a 24x7 support team.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools like spectrum analyzers, multimeters, fiber test sets, etc.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
