Datacenter Technician
Must be able to work rotating shifts (nights/weekends)
Basic Requirements:
- AA degree, electronics school certification, or equivalent military training and experience.
- 2 years of experience as a technician in SATCOM/Terrestrial environment with LAN/WAN industry standards, working knowledge of TCP/IP, and Ethernet configuration and functionality desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications are a plus (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA, and ITIL).
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems desirable.
- Flexible to work varying shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or a mixed) in a high stress environment.
- Basic electronics troubleshooting skills desirable (ability to use and interpret readings from a range of test equipment including spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, power meter, Fiber test sets, etc.).
- Knowledge of satellite technology and terrestrial technology (i.e. DSL, WIFI, Cable)
- Experience with Cisco, HNS, CATV/IPTV and other Telco and IP protocol core network and equipment
Essential Qualifications:
- Candidate must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Climb ladders to heights of up to 20 feet.
- Carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work repetitive tasks like installing/deinstalling cables/equipment.
- Have the dexterity to terminate various types of cabling (i.e. CAT6/6A, coaxial cable, fiber cable)
