Job Summary

Job Title: Chemistry Research Adjunct - Castle Lab

Posting Close Date: April 8, 2025 at 12:00am (MDT)

Position Start Date: April 29, 2025

Required Degree: BS or BA in chemistry

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: Previous experience with the techniques of organic synthesis, including reaction setup, purification using column chromatography, and product analysis using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.

Duties/Expectations: 

The employee will synthesize small organic molecules using multistep routes. They will purify and characterize each intermediate using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. They will identify any problems that arise with the reactions, and propose solutions to these problems. They will work in collaboration with a graduate student. They are expected to meet individually with the PI on a weekly basis and to participate in weekly research group meetings.

This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
