Bright Homes, a reputable homebuilder in the Central Valley, is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent with all duties associated with scheduling according to Bright Homes’ scheduling process.
- Assist the Superintendent in all aspects of materials management.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation of supplier performance to include problems, issues and communication.
- Report any variance information to the Superintendent.
- Participate in developing cooperative, mutually supportive partnerships with all subcontractors.
- Understand the established scopes of work, schedules, checklists and quality standards and assist the Superintendent in obtaining 100% completion of all work.
- Provide feedback to the Superintendent regarding the quality of each subcontractor’s work.
- Pre-Drywall Walk-Throughs.
- Prior to walk-throughs, assist with ensuring homes are completely punched out, cleaned and ready for drywall installation.
- Participate in walk-throughs whenever possible and gain an awareness of the proper techniques.
- Assist with maintaining proper documentation in the lot file of all walk-throughs.
- Understand Bright Homes’ safety standards as well as OSHA and state standards and assist the Superintendent in ensuring compliance.
- Understand all job site rules, regulations and policies, and assist with their enforcement.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining community cleanliness and appearance standards.
- Ensure all job site personnel dispose of personal trash in the proper receptacles.
- Assist the Superintendent with maintaining accurate and comprehensive daily report information.
- Understand Bright Homes’ quality control standards and assist with their enforcement.
- Assist the Superintendent with any inspections that need to be conducted throughout the building process.
- Assist the Superintendent in ensuring all homeowner questions or issues are handled in accordance with established guidelines.
- Document all contact with homeowners on a Client Contact Form and ensure the form is properly date and time stamped, signed by the homeowner, added to the job file and faxed to the Operations Manager.
- Oversee the front-end construction process (i.e., trench to sheetrock).
- Complete outstanding punch list items within seven business days of walk-throughs.
- At the direction of the Superintendent, assist in training construction team members.
- Understand the impact of weather conditions on a project and assist the Superintendent in tracking forecasts and preparing for inclement weather.
- Assist the Superintendent with ensuring all homes are locked and unlocked each day of construction activity.
- Participate in the quarterly Growth Review process and pursue opportunities for professional improvement.
- Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance and appropriate attire (i.e., bright shirts) at all times on the job site in accordance with company policy.
- Support and promote Bright Homes’ mission statement and vision.
- Assist with all other special projects and tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of previous assistant superintendent experience or relatable experience in the homebuilding/construction industry.
- Prior experience reading blue prints preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong follow-thru skills.
- Self-starter.
- Must be insurable through company's auto insurance policy.
**This is not a remote position, requires working from various locations throughout Central Valley of California**
