What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler assistant teacher position at Bright Light Academy?
Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced assistant teacher to join our toddlers teaching teams. Candidates MUST have two years of experience working with young children (under the age of 3), be a team player, high energy & able to multi-task.
Candidates must qualify as Assistant Group Supervisors with DHS to be considered. Candidates with a CDA are preferred. Bilingual a plus.
Responsibilities :
- Support young children transitioning from the one year old classroom to the two year old classroom.
- Collaborate with the teachers to assist and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
- Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for toddlers.
- Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines.
- Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.
- Assist students with person care routines as needed.
Qualifications :
- Have two years of experience working with children (2500 hours).
- Must qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor or higher with the Dept. of Human Services.
- Preferably have a CDA or going to school for Early Childhood Education.
- Able to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
- Be 18 years or older and able to work in the United States.
- A love for children and a desire to work with toddlers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
- Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.
- Bilingual a plus.
Position Overview :
- This is a full-time position, but Bright Light full-time staff work a 4-day work week!
- The pay range starts at $16.50 up to $18 (relative to experience & education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance at the end of a 90-day probation period.
- Full-time staff also receive paid holidays & PTO, sick pay, annual raises, reduced child care & more.
