Our industry leading client is searching for a strategic and results-driven Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, reporting, and analysis across multiple divisions within their growing organization in the Kansas City, MO area. This role is a key business partner to Operations and executive leadership, providing the financial insights and leadership needed to drive performance, optimize costs, and support data-driven decision making.
The ideal candidate brings leadership experience and deep expertise in financial modeling, job cost reporting, and project performance analysis for fast-paced environments.
As the Director of FP&A, you’ll lead financial reporting and analysis across multiple divisions, guiding executive decisions with insightful forecasts, variance analysis, and performance metrics. You’ll be a key player in aligning financial strategy with operational success, helping the business maximize profitability and drive sustainable growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial reporting and internal controls for your division.
- Build and manage detailed financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and present actionable insights.
- Partner with Operations to improve cost control, project profitability, and margin performance.
- Support and influence operational leaders with clear, strategic financial guidance.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Finance team.
- Manage special projects and operational metric reporting.
Requirements for the Director of FP&A:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred).
- 10 years of finance and accounting experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
- Construction industry experience with deep knowledge of job costing and project accounting.
- Proficiency in financial systems and analytical tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
