Job Title: Accounting Coordinator
Job Description:
BROC Community Action is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual with hands-on bookkeeping experience to join our team as an Accounting Coordinator. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting processes who can manage a range of tasks independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely payments.
- Oversee payroll processing and handle payroll-related inquiries.
- Perform daily general ledger entries, including receipts, recurring, and adjusting entries.
- Review and reconcile payroll on a bi-monthly basis.
- Authorize AP payments and ensure proper documentation is in place.
- Reconcile cash accounts and ensure all entries align with financial records.
- Review accounts receivable balances and follow up as needed.
- Process payroll levies and garnishments in compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting or business administration, or 2-3 years of equivalent business experience, preferably in a community-based organization.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience with computerized accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Previous experience with grant funding is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work independently.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
