Job Summary
Brookdale Fruit Farm Inc. is seeking an Assistant manager in Orchard and Vegetable production located in Hollis NH. Brookdale is the North East leading innovative agricultural producer and is actively seeking employees to join our industry leading team. This position is salary based with added busy seasonal work hours during planting and harvest including weekend work. This position is a team lead and requires applicants to lead associates on daily tasks and have the ability to help throughout the farm. The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in this field and a commitment to this position for a long term is desirable.
Responsibilities
· Assist in the production of fruit and vegetable crops.
· Assist in the Application and Management of Fertilizer and Chemicals to crops
· Manage harvest labor crews
· Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in crop production.
· Follow IPM, FSMA, and GAP growing practices
Qualifications
· 3 years previous experience in commercial fruit or vegetable production.
· Ability to collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
· Knowledge of growing practices in tree fruit such as High-Density production.
· Familiarity with pesticide application.
· Mechanical knowledge to operate tractors and ag equipment.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
· Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and lead team members.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as required.
· Ability to read and write in English
· Valid driver’s License
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
