What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Agricultural Worker position at Brookford Farm?
Brookford Farm is looking for vegetable farm crew members who are excited about sustainability and working with the land! The positions are seasonal, with a potential to work full-time, for seasons if the fit is right. We have a small and tight knit crew that works very closely with one another on a daily basis. Together, our crew works towards common goals and supporting one another through the wide range of ups and downs of farming. Farming is a very physically demanding job, with long days and a wide range of weather conditions. Employees should have good mental and physical stamina.
A person that excels in this role is a good team player, has a positive attitude and good work ethic, is efficiency minded, has a good sense of humor, and is physically fit.

Brookford's farm crew team is made up of individuals who enjoy physical, outdoor work. There are many different tasks year round. Farm crew members are involved in many aspects of operating the farm. Generally speaking, the farm work includes:
- Greenhouse production (seeding & transplanting)
- Field planting
- Weeding
- Irrigation
- Harvest
- Wash & pack produce
- Delivery driving
Requirements for this position are as follows:
- Must be able to lift and carry 35 pound bins over uneven dirt paths
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Must be willing to work outside in the weather every day you are here
- Must be willing to follow directions and learn from other crew members and leaders
- Willing to drive one delivery route or work a farmer’s market on a weekend day
- Willingness to commit to a full season
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Season & Hours: March 1st - November 1st. A typical work week during peak season is about 45hours (5 days/week). Weekend work may be required (typically Tue-Sat or Sun-Thur). Start time is between 6 and 8AM depending on the season. We work a regular schedule on holidays.
