Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and dedicated Park Attendant in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to manage the daily operations and maintenance of Riana Campground, Abiquiu Lake, approximately 30 miles north of Espanola, NM.
The role involves ensuring a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained recreational environment for visitors. The Park Attendant will be responsible for staffing the entry gate, providing customer support services, and conducting inspection tours during the recreational season.
Work Hours
- 7-day shifts followed by 7 days off, with 24-hour availability required during shifts.
- Attendance at a pre-work orientation/training session is mandatory.
- Services are required from April 10 - October 15, 2025, with opportunities to work the same season in the following years.
Duties
- Provide information and assistance to park visitors.
- Conduct routine inspection tours of the park and its facilities.
- Control visitor access and manage the opening and closing of gates.
- Monitor visitor compliance with park rules and quiet hours.
- Issue user permits, post reservation signs, and register campers.
- Collect and remit user fees using the Recreation.gov/Recreation One Stop (R1S) system.
- Maintain cleanliness and enforce access restrictions in non-public areas of the gatehouse.
Requirements
- Must furnish a factory-built, "self-contained" recreational vehicle (RV) of the travel trailer or motor home type to serve as temporary living quarters for the duration of the position.
- The RV must be equipped with an electrical hookup not exceeding 110 volts and must be at least 18 feet in length.
- Other types of temporary living quarters, such as pickup shell-type campers, pop-up tent trailers, tents, mini-travel trailers, mobile homes, or converted buses, are not acceptable
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Must pass a background check.
- Experience in public campground management.
- Proficiency with computer programs, particularly for reservation and fee collection systems.
- Experience handling money and conducting financial transactions.
