We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities
- Oversee all nursing operations within the facility, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and provide holistic care.
- Manage medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Conduct regular assessments of nursing staff performance and provide guidance for professional development.
- Delegate tasks to Nursing team and ensure that they are completed.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
- Provide support in hospice care settings, ensuring compassionate end-of-life care for patients and families.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of physiology and medical advancements relevant to nursing practices.
- Audit charts/Mors frequently to maintain compliance with AHCA standards
- Educate nursing department on all policy's and regulations to ensure that they are being implemented and followed correctly.
- Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
- Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff
- Providing ongoing education classes
- Implementing new procedures and training Nurses on policies
- Sets the nursing schedule.
- Maintains/orders inventory for Nursing department
Skills
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing nursing teams effectively.
- Proficient in developing comprehensive care plans based on patient assessments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and physiology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Experience in assisted living or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and staff.
