TITLE: Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs skilled preventative and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield. As well as troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems and failures. Completes all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Safety is the primary responsibility of all employees at Brookwood Laminating. Working safely, following safety rules and procedures, and supporting a safety conscious environment are requirements of employment.

· Assist other technicians by performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.

· Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

· Perform ordinary machining operations using lathe, milling machine, grinder, drill press, etc. Willing and able to weld using a tig, stick or mig.

· Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

· Perform plumbing work in all parts of the plant and perform complex building maintenance work.

· Move machines and equipment to designated areas efficiently and safely while operating a fork truck.

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

· Must be available for rotating scheduled “on-call” duty for weekends and emergencies.

· Maintain clean and orderly work areas.

· Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • 1st shift 7am-3pm
  • Monday - Friday

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma/ GED and/or completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • Experience in a textile, paper, or other web processing manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
  • 4 years of manufacturing experience; strong mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.85 per hour
