Bruker Malaysia is looking for a dynamic Accountant to oversee the finance and accounting function on general accounting duties, maintaining complete sets of financial records, keeping track of accounts, and verifying the accuracy of procedures used for recording financial transactions, support SOX, Stat & Other audits. This position is to support the Singapore Financial Controller on operational level. This position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  

Responsibilities

• Owns the general ledgers for the Bruker Malaysia entity, being a regional hub structure. He/She shall work and put all effort to ensure the accuracy of the SG financial results in accordance with US & SG GAAP and Company policies.  Has direct responsibility for creating and maintaining an appropriate internal financial control environment in all aspects of the function.  As needed, provides clear and balanced recommendations to resolve important accounting and finance matters requiring estimation or application of judgment. 
• Supports the Singapore Financial Controller on local financial, statutory, and regulatory matters and active management of Accounts Payable team.  Manages all areas of Singapore financial support including but not limited to: financial reporting, accounting; business analysis; treasury and taxation; and capital budgeting.  Specific responsibilities include: revenue recognition, accounts payable, travel and entertainment, general accounting, inventory reporting, cash management, GST and Corporate tax reporting and compliance, SOX compliance, and statutory reporting (including reconciliation to US GAAP). 
• Has credibility, diplomatic and customer focused.  Understands the business and is responsive to the needs of commercial business partners.  Diplomatically handles complex topics and varied audiences.  Enhance customer experience for our key stakeholders
• Proactively drive process improvement to improve the quality and productivity of Bruker Singapore finance team and seek to eliminate/reduce non-value-added activities to meet APAC & global finance objectives
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ experience in the full set of accounting/ auditing, preferably in commercial industry.
• Advanced experience in MS Excel and SAP/ S4 Hana will be an added advantage
• Strong analytical and accounting skills.
• Excellent verbal, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
• The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product.
