About the Role:
As Activities Coordinator at our Coastal Carolina Active Living Center, you'll play a vital role in creating a vibrant and engaging environment for our seniors. This position involves planning, coordinating, and leading a variety of activities that appeal to a diverse group of seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of activities and trips for seniors, both onsite and virtually that promote greater quality of life for adults 50
- Ensure activities are engaging, enjoyable, and accessible to all participants.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure activities align with center objectives.
- Promote activities and encourage participation among seniors.
- Recruit and Interview potential new program leaders.
- Evaluate activities and collect feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Approve program leader invoices.
- Transport and escort participants in a 15 passenger van on field trips locally and out of town.
- Collaborate with the program manager to schedule and create activities and special events as needed.
- Ensure all activities provided and planned meet state requirements adhering to SCOPE rules.
- Cross training in other roles.
Key Requirements:
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creativity and a passion for working with seniors.
- Experience in activity planning or related fields preferred.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Google Forms. Experience with Google Calendar for scheduling and event management is highly desirable.
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Education, Gerontology, or a related field is highly desirable but not mandatory.
