Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions related to vendor invoices, contractor payments, and other business expenses. This role will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to manage the flow of financial information and support the company’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and record vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Match purchase orders to invoices and receipts for verification of payment.
- Prepare and process checks, ACH, or wire payments to vendors and contractors.
- Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for audit and reconciliation purposes.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or payment issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with the monthly accounts payable reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy before month-end close.
- Maintain and update vendor information, including contact details and payment terms.
- Prepare reports and assist with financial analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure proper allocation of expenses for residential solar projects.
- Support with the preparation of year-end reporting, including tax forms (e.g., 1099s).
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Assist in maintaining a healthy cash flow by monitoring due dates and optimizing payment schedules.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or accounting certification preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable or similar accounting/finance role strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software and basic financial management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in using spreadsheets and word processors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Experience or interest in the solar energy industry is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
