Job Summary:
The primary priority of this position is the health of the Buchanan County, MO End User systems and equipment, including but not limited to Desktops, Laptops, and Servers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Education/Experience:
High School diploma required.
Education equivalent to an associate’s degree or Certificates in an information technology related field.
At least 2 years’ system administration experience is preferred.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Potential candidate must pass a criminal background check and legal hiring processes. Buchanan County may disqualify an applicant if the positions responsibilities are substantially related to the applicant’s criminal history.

- Responsible for maintenance of Buchanan County Information Technology Infrastructure including but not limited to: Servers, Data Storage, Data Protection, Network Switching, Network Routing, Firewall Configuration, Wireless Networks, Fuel Systems, Surveillance Systems, Door Access Control, VOIP Phone Systems, Detention Control Systems, Low Voltage Wiring, and Power Management Systems
- Responsible for installation and maintenance of Buchanan County Information Technology Support Solutions including but not limited to: Hypervisors, Data Protection, Multi-Form Authentication, VPN, System Imaging, System Monitoring and Management, Password Management, Video Conferencing, Website Hosting, Office365, and Law Enforcement Vehicle Communications
- Responsible for end user deployment and support
- Ensures proper and consistent documentation of systems and solutions throughout the Information Technology Department
- Responsible for End User system imaging and deployment
- Assists with the monitoring of potential risks/opportunities of existing Buchanan County technologies, and strives for continuous improvement
- Operate office equipment. Including but not limited to: copy machine, computer, phone, and all other basic office equipment
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:

- Must be organized, able to multi-task and detail-oriented
- Must have the ability to read, comprehend, and utilize information obtained
- Knowledge of working with computer systems and standard software applications related to Information Technology
- Ability to understand advanced computer terminology and identify hardware and peripherals
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
