Delivery Assistant

Position Overview:

• Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading goods or packages onto delivery vehicles safely and securely. Unload items at delivery locations, ensuring they are handled with care to prevent damage.
• Navigation: Help the driver navigate to delivery destinations using maps or GPS devices. Provide directions and assist in identifying the most efficient routes to minimize delivery time.
• Delivery Assistance: Accompany the driver to delivery locations, assisting in the efficient and timely distribution of goods. This may involve carrying packages to designated drop-off points, verifying delivery addresses, and obtaining recipient signatures or confirmations.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries. Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details, answer inquiries, and address any concerns or issues they may have.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by verifying the contents of deliveries and ensuring all items are accounted for. Report any discrepancies or damages to the driver or supervisor promptly.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Assist in keeping delivery vehicles clean and well-maintained. Perform routine inspections to check for any issues or damage, and report any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while loading, unloading, and transporting goods. Follow traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of oneself, the driver, and other road users.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the delivery driver and other team members to ensure efficient delivery operations. Provide support and assistance as needed to accomplish delivery tasks in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements: Possess the ability to lift and carry heavy packages, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods. Maintain physical fitness and stamina to keep up with the demands of the job.

Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility in work hours and willingness to work in varying weather conditions. Be adaptable to changes in delivery schedules or routes as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 45 per week
