Role Description:
The Inventory Control Manager will ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible in accordance with the organization's inventory cycle. This includes establishing and maintaining precise labeling systems, conducting thorough and regular audits to verify inventory accuracy, and implementing robust tracking mechanisms to monitor inventory movement. You will develop and enforce stringent protocols for inventory receipt, storage, and distribution, ensuring that every item is accounted for and easily retrievable. Attention to detail will be paramount in maintaining up-to-date records, minimizing discrepancies, and swiftly addressing any issues that arise to maintain the highest standards of inventory management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains Inventory staff for Receiving and Replenishing.
- Collaborates with the Operations Director to provide timely and constructive performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Executes daily inventory analysis, meticulously identifying and resolving discrepancies and problems.
- Manages schedules and delegates tasks of employees and deliveries to optimize operations with precision.
- Manages inventory systems and warehousing at various locations, ensuring that space is optimized at each location (e.g., delivery locations communicated to suppliers, stock rotation for FIFO, personnel notified of deliveries at locations).
- Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers, making necessary adjustments with a keen eye for detail.
- Oversees inventory counts, cycle counts, and adjustments with thoroughness.
- Evaluates deliveries to ensure correct labeling and condition of products.
- Manages damaged and expired inventory, ensuring proper disposal of items with careful adherence to protocols.
- Promotes a positive safety culture by supporting safety initiatives, ensuring safety compliance within your assigned work area.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of the warehouse.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
- Available to travel to other locations for inventory count and inspections.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an exceptionally strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in problem-solving and proactive critical thinking.
- Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- At least five years of experience in related areas is required.
- At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Continuous walking and standing.
