Summary of Role
As the Payroll Lead, you’ll manage payroll preparation and processing, tax reporting, commission calculations, compliance, and payroll systems maintenance. This role also involves supervising payroll team members and collaborating with company managers to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee multi-location payrolls, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Process paychecks for all employees, including executives.
- Audit payroll data (W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings).
- Balance payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare management reports (e.g., W-2s, ACA, and year-end compliance reports).
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to address payroll-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate payroll systems reflecting wages, benefits, and PTO.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and minimum age of 18.
- Proficiency in MS Office and payroll accounting systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED with 5-7 years of related experience, OR
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience preferred.
- Certified Payroll Processor (CPP) certification is a plus.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Comfortable sitting, standing, and walking as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Work in a climate-controlled, indoor office environment.
