Job Duties
- Human Resources Coordination:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and background checks.
- Facilitate a welcoming onboarding experience, introducing new hires to company culture, policies, and procedures.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and establish hiring criteria.
- Oversee and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Employee Engagement and Support:
- Act as a resource for employees, addressing concerns and providing guidance on HR-related matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the HR Director in handling employee relations, assisting with documentation and coordination of processes.
- Collaborate on employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace environment.
- Benefits and Performance Management:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and wellness initiatives, while assisting employees with inquiries.
- Support performance review processes, including preparation, facilitation, and documentation.
- Assist in the development of performance improvement plans and career development initiatives.
- Compliance and HRIS Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS), managing updates for promotions, terminations, and other changes.
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and company values.
- Operational Support and Coordination:
- Facility and Vendor Management:
- Oversee facilities operations, including scheduling inspections (e.g., environmental, fire), managing janitorial services, and coordinating waste management.
- Audit and reorder office supplies and consumables, ensuring the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other essentials.
- Technology and Security:
- Manage onboarding and offboarding for employee badges, security access, and IT platforms.
- Provide basic IT troubleshooting and coordinate with external IT support for device management and system updates.
- Train employees on Microsoft Teams and other company applications.
- Logistics and Communication:
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, logging consumable items into inventory systems, and supporting departmental inventory needs.
- Facilitate interdepartmental communication, ensuring alignment and efficient operations.
- Answer phones, manage gate intercom access, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Accounts Payable and Financial Oversight:
- Perform initial reviews of invoices related to onsite activities before submission to the Accounts Payable (AP) department.
- Travel and Accommodation Management:
- Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations for employees traveling to the NJ site.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- Experience: ~5 years' experience of proven HR Generalist or similar HR role. Experience in retail, cannabis, or a related industry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (ISolved, ADP, Workday, etc.).
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Must have a reliable vehicle.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Must possess valid driver's license and Travel 25% of time.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry.
