Job description The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material on multi-family construction sites.
Responsibilities
Operate Heavy Equipment machinery such as all-terrain forklifts and Sky Trak forklifts.
Transport lumber material to and from job site.
Unload lumber material from delivery trucks
Responsible for inventory counts
Maintaining a safe work environment
Works on unleveled ground
Requirements
1-year construction forklift operation experience. NO warehouse experience.
Experience loading and unloading long material
Skills
Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
Must be able to traverse various terrains.
Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions / information.
Must be able to communicate with others.
Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight- or ten-hour days.
Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.)
Must have knowledge of heavy equipment
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
