Title: Finance Director
Department: Back Office Manager
Supervisor: Executive Director
Status: Full Time Exempt position
Buhl Club Mission: “To provide quality recreational, social, fitness & educational programs for people of all ages in our communities.”
General Function
The Finance Director is responsible for the development, analysis, documentation, coordination and implementation of the strategies that enable the Buhl Club to strengthen its finances and, ultimately, increase the Club’s impact in the communities it serves.
Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business
- At least two years of broad finance experience including a strong understanding of accounting
- General computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Suite products, including excel and knowledge of Quickbooks.
Responsibilities and Principal Activities
In harmony with the Mission, Established Policies, Strategic Objectives and Goals of the Buhl Club, the position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Service Skills/Expectations
- Oversight of accounting, finance and other functions as required.
- Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner, and submit payroll taxes
- Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
- Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
- Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
- Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
- Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Understanding of network/website setup
- All other tasks assigned by Executive Director

- Stand, smile and greet all members by name; thank them when leaving.
- Check the Google calendar and BCRC email at the start of each shift to be well informed for members and participants.
- When a new member signs up, the employee will stand, re-introduce himself/herself, welcome the member and offer any additional assistance.
- Engage members with health and wellness exercises and questions.
- Be proactive in keeping the facility clean and safe.
- Keep the member service area organized and free of clutter.
- Verbally acknowledge anyone waiting for assistance at the front desk or in program areas. Always be ready and willing to “come out” from behind desk or office to assist members.
Member Involvement Skills
- Be knowledgeable about program areas and share information with members.
- Be knowledgeable about the Buhl Club, its program and policies.
- Recommend participation in a variety of program offerings.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge annual fundraising goals and actively communicate it to members
- Be able to articulate the Buhl Club mission and benefits.
