Job Summary
BSI Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position will focus on Accounts Payable and provide vital support to our accounting department by ensuring timely and accurate processing of payables for our 8 locations across New Mexico and El Paso. As an essential part of our team, you will help maintain the financial health of our company by managing invoices, payments, and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, verify accuracy, and match with purchase orders and receipts.
- Maintain accurate records of payables in accounting software.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper coding and approval of expenses.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts payable activities.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues or inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred).
- 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with QuickBooks or other ERP systems preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a high level of accuracy.
