Bullis School seeks a dynamic and experienced Varsity Field Hockey Coach for the 2025 season. This individual will lead our competitive and spirited girls’ varsity volleyball program, continuing a legacy of excellence while fostering a positive, growth-oriented team culture. The coach will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including skill development, game strategy, team management, and mentorship of student-athletes both on and off the court.

Essential Functions
Plan and lead all varsity field hockey practices, games, and team events
Build and maintain a team culture that values integrity, effort, sportsmanship, and continuous improvement
Instruct athletes on techniques, tactical gameplay, and conditioning specific to field hockey
Collaborate with the Athletic Department on scheduling, transportation, and logistics
Maintain open and supportive communication with student-athletes, families, and school staff
Support college recruitment efforts where applicable, including player promotion and guidance
Model leadership and professionalism for student-athletes and fellow coaches
Uphold and promote the values and mission of Bullis School through the athletic program
Assist in the development of the field hockey program across all levels, including support and mentorship of JV and Middle School coaches
Experience
Required:
Previous successful experience coaching field hockey, ideally at the high school, club or collegiate level
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Demonstrated ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire young student-athletes
Deep knowledge of field hockey fundamentals, strategy, and skill development
CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
Availability for all preseason, in-season, and postseason responsibilities (August–November)
Preferred:
Collegiate playing or coaching experience in field hockey
Experience with club-level coaching or regional development programs
Background working in independent schools or with student-athletes in academically rigorous settings
Interest in program-wide development, including engagement with JV and Middle School programs
This is a stipend position paid at the end of the season in the amount of $6,350 - $9,200
