Amsted Automotive, SMW Belleville, is looking for a person to oversee the upkeep of facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Their responsibilities include scheduling and supervising maintenance tasks, managing maintenance staff, coordinating with vendors, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. They also handle budgeting for maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
What You’ll Do
- Supervises plant maintenance personnel.
- Communicates directly with the production department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
- Communicates directly with the Quality department to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
- Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, to solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contributions of the maintenance technicians.
- Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel.
- Must be competent using our CMMS. Requires proper and accurate documentation of work performed within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are always met.
- Complete any assigned special projects.
- Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, such as utilizing personal protective equipment and proper attire in keeping with safety standards.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager.
