Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Real Estate Development, the Housing Rehabilitation Coordinator will provide oversight and coordination of rehabilitation projects aimed at improving the quality, safety, and accessibility of housing units within our community. The coordinator will work closely with contractors, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure that rehabilitation projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Essential Functions
- Project Management: Coordinate all aspects of housing rehabilitation projects from initial assessment to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners participating in rehabilitation programs. Conduct initial assessments, explain program requirements, and aid with paperwork and approvals.
- Contractor Management: Solicit bids from qualified contractors, negotiate contracts, and oversee the work of contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
- Permitting and Compliance: Ensure that all rehabilitation projects comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and funding requirements. Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant government agencies.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop project budgets, track expenses, and manage funding sources to ensure that projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
- Community Outreach: Collaborate with community organizations, local government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote housing rehabilitation programs and recruit eligible homeowners.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of all rehabilitation projects, including project documentation, financial records, and client information. Prepare reports and updates for program funders and stakeholders as needed.
