SUMMARY
As a Manager, Integrated Planning, you will be responsible for defining and enabling the strategic, cross-channel communications/media plan for your client(s), providing direct oversight to the Planner(s) working on your team. You will work closely with the Channel Activation teams and Account teams to plan for solutions that achieve client’s business goals and objectives, supporting recommendations with research across the media/communications industry, your client’s category/competition, and key target audiences.
KEY OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Outcome: Articulation of strategic, insightful communications approach and media strategy to deliver on client goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and build actionable insights based on the understanding of audiences’ journey, attitudes, past campaign efforts, and deep media industry knowledge
- Build and articulate a connective communication plan strategy based on the needs of the clients’ business, partnering with the Associate Director/Director of Integrated Planning, as needed
- Effectively evaluate and deliver cross-channel plan recommendations based on strategic objectives and plan strategies
- Present Butler/Till solutions through a compelling, storytelling lens to stakeholders (internally and externally)
- Actively participate in brainstorming and lead conversations that steward campaign execution or pull-through with clients and external agencies
Key Outcome: Continued elevation of campaign performance insights and optimizations tied to business outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Senior/Planner(s) in their ability to build actionable insights and rationale for plan recommendations, clearly articulate the strategic objectives to Channel Activation team(s), and lead ongoing campaign management tasks
- Lead campaign performance discussions with Account, Client, and Partner Agency team(s)
- Consistently seek feedback across cross-functional team to measure and improve performance against client metrics and KPIs
Key Outcome: Cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the voice of the strategy internally, guiding cross-channel recommendations to achieve plan objectives
- Autonomously make decisions to progress projects forward in a manner that delivers on the strategic need, meets/exceeds client expectations, and delivers on Agency quality standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional team leads to remove barriers to developing strategic work that meets clients’ objectives and expectations
- Regularly assess and reflect on client-specific processes, providing recommendations to Manager and/or Director to continue to optimize towards effectiveness, supporting implementation of the solution as identified

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, confident strategic point of view and leadership across day-to-day Planning deliverables
- Develop strategic, outcome-based insights, through a mastery of research toolkit, that lead to impactful plan optimization and innovation
- Proactively recommend innovative ideas for the campaigns managed, supporting the Integrated Planning Director and account teams with articulation of new recommendations and plan opportunities to client
- Accountable to maintaining consistent knowledge of landscape evolution, translating “where the communications/media industry is going” to how that impacts client strategy and tactical pull-through

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to management of talent plans. Assess, hire, on-board, and grow role-appropriate talent
- Manage a team of Planner(s), setting clear, outcome-based performance goals for them and establishing and maintaining development plans for each
- Provide effective feedback that enables employees to improve and work toward goals, while seeking feedback from team to enable inclusion and continuous improvement
- Remove barriers to enable team outcomes
- Provide opportunities for growth and development, while mentoring and inspiring employees to unlock their full potential
- Demonstrated ability to tailor 1:1 coaching with a specific business outcome in mind
Other Responsibilities:
- Support onboarding of new clients and/or new campaigns within client portfolio
- Ability to travel – varies by client. Hiring manager will clearly articulate travel requirements for account (s); subject to change based on the dynamic needs of individual clients.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Communication, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- 7 years’ experience in Integrated Planning or another strategic facing role in marketing, advertising, media, and communications
- 3 years’ experience mentoring team members, preferably at least one year of direct manager experience
- Demonstrated ability to understand and build actionable insights from first-party and syndicated research tools, leveraging them as key rationale for strategic communications plan recommendations
- Excellent presentation skills – verbally and written – for clients or relevant external audience
- Strong comfort level with data, analytics, and measurement solutions and recommendations
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in an agency setting and cross-functional working-knowledge base, across media, creative, analytics, account, and client teams
- Experience with third-party measurement partners (such as brand lift studies, Kantar or Nielsen attitudinal studies, and industry specific partnerships, e.g., IQVIA, Crossix)

COMPENSATION
Butler/Till is committed to providing pay transparency of our compensation philosophy and ensuring equitable pay practices for our employee owners. The compensation range for this position is $67,000 - $94,000 and represents the annual salary range in Rochester, NY. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
This is just one component of Butler/Till’s total compensation package for employee owners. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including ESOP (employee stock ownership plan), an annual bonus, in addition to a full benefits package, and paid time off benefits, including 100% paid parental leave. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
