Quality Control Specialist

Position Summary: To promote and ensure compliance with NSF and FDA cGMP’s as they relate to production and packaging of product. Assist in the strict adherence with all Atrium Innovations SOP’s and standards. Ensure that products produced by Beyond Organic Nutritionals are of the highest standard with the capability to oversee in-process quality control.

• Knowledge of classification and types of defects
• Conduct a start-up assessment
• Perform and assess an ATP swab test
• Perform line checks
• Perform cleaning log sign-offs
• Personal GMP awareness
• Operational GMP awareness
• Plant GMP awareness
• AQL sampling plan
• Sample acquisition and documentation
• Basic knowledge of current business computer system
• Scale function checks
• Retain sample plan
• Metal detector set-up and calibration
• Issuance and review of cleaning logs
• Issuance and review of tempering logs
• Maintain collection and retention of batch records
• Maintain departmental data as required
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prior QA experience is preferred. Computer literate (Microsoft Office). Good understanding of a regulatory environment. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask. Self-motivated and reliable. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Language Ability:

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

Mathematical Ability:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Work Environment: Position is carried out in a factory setting where there is considerable exposure to dust and raw materials including, but not limited to, enzymes and animal-based glandular materials.
