Injection Molder Operator
Basic Function: Monitors and operates injection molding press machines and equipment, ensuring quality of product(s) and conformance with the standard operating procedure is maintained. Able to follow all safety procedures at site while running molding presses with high attention to detail. (Associates must follow PPE requirements and follow emergency procedures when necessary).
Responsibilities
The molding associate is responsible for many labor-intensive tasks including:
- Inspection and sorting of product. Following utilization of proper gauges and frequencies determined by the customer part.
- Performing secondary operations (such as trimming and inserting)
- Ability to change color concentrate and color concentrate levels to meet color sample specifications
- Ability to unblock cavities in a mold
- Ability to clear a stuck part or runner from a mold
- Ability to stop a mold, back of a sled and clear a barrel of material
- Ability to turn on and off dryers, dryer valves, and vacuum system
- Ensures press does not run out of material or color during a run
- Operating multiple injection mold presses
- Ability to clean grinders, dryers and color mixers
- Performing basic maintenance of machines and upkeep of the manufacturing area

- Basic data entry of machine information
- Basic math skills for data and quality control
- Must not be color blind
- Ability to drive forklift
