Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager's role is to develop and execute a sales strategy aimed at increasing market penetration by accelerating revenue and unit sales growth for CNC machinery in their designated territory. This role entails a balance of distributor oversight, direct sales management, strategic planning, and cultivating strong customer relationships, with a clear emphasis on achieving and surpassing sales objectives.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Strategic Positioning and Planning
- Formulate and implement robust sales strategies to achieve or exceed targets within the designated territory.
- Analyze and increase market share across industries and product lines within the territory
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to create effective sales tools and promotional materials.
Sales Management
- Ensure the accuracy of features and pricing on all quotes produced in territory
- Create a seamless handoff from sales to after sales support and production departments, aligning customer expectations.
- Work the other departments to set realistic and accurate customer expectations as well as resolving escalated customer problems
- Maintain relationships with existing customers and generate repeat business
- Provide guidance and training to CNC Sales Specialists, Sales Development Representatives, and Distributors on sales tactics and product knowledge.
- Interface with vendors as needed for special projects
- Participate in trade shows and assist with sales promotion activities, including organizing, presenting, and hosting open houses and distributor training events.
Distributor Management
- Set clear performance targets for Distributors, monitoring and ensuring accountability for outcomes.
- Assign and maintain Distributor exclusivity levels
- Evaluate Distributor performance, providing coaching and mentorship to optimize sales effectiveness.
- Conduct product knowledge and customer management training for Distributors.
- Resolve any commission-related issues promptly.
- Expand distributor network by identifying and vetting potential new partners.
Team C.R. Onsrud
- Embody and promote C.R. Onsrud's core values and culture.
- Participate actively in sales meetings, design reviews, and discussions to resolve customer issues.
- Pursue ongoing professional development in sales management
Competencies:
- Availability to travel extensively (up to 75%) within the assigned territory.
