We have an immediate opening for a Help Desk IT Support Technician. The selected candidate will apply expertise on multiple complex work tasks and provide live support of the GATES program, a mission-critical application providing cargo and passenger manifesting and in transit visibility requirements for the Department of Defense (DoD).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the GATES Operational Support Center which operates three shifts 24/7 x 365.
- Installing, configuring, and supporting an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
- Monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption.
- Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems.
- Interfaces with vendor support groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
- Provides quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing security software products.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a similar discipline or minimum of four (4) years of related experience is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are desired as tasks may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to remediate issues.
- Must be able to effectively and tactfully communicate with customers and staff to convey and fulfill all duties and responsibilities listed in the contract.
- All C5T team members must have strong interpersonal skills to interact with our customers and team members. Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills, along with analytical and problem-solving capabilities, are a must.
Requirements:
- CompTIA Security Certification
- This position requires a Secret Level Federal Clearance.
- US Citizenship/Work Eligibility: This position requires a candidate who is either a current US Citizen or has appropriate paperwork to show eligibility for full-time work in the US.
