Overview
At CAES-Lansdale the Demand Manager is a newly created role that will play a critical part in the success of the business and enjoy great cross-functional visibiity.
This central role drives the site-wide Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, coordinating with Business Development (BD) and Program Management Office (PMO) to capture booked and forecasted customer demand. This role also participates in the Order Approval Process (OAP) to verify production and material lead times with key stakholders in bids and proposals. A key output of the Demand Manager role is the Master Production Schedule (MPS), effectively communicating MPS additions and changes; generating daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand issues and limitations that may impact timely production and delivery of our product.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams throughout several key business processes
- Generates schedules, flow sheets and other tools for the tracking and analysis of demand (booked and forecasted) vs supply (material support and requirements plans)
- Manages the side-wide demand forecast dataset for accurate tracking and reporting on current and forecasted customer demand
- Reviews all customer purchase orders (POs) and PO modifications to ensure established lead times can support
- Enters and manages the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to drive shop floor execution; effectively communicates MPS additions and changes
- Develops and maintains key business metrics including, but not limited to performance to revenue, customer on-time delivery, past due revenue, and past due schedule line items.
- Evaluates and generates simulations to predict impact, and ability to execute proposed build plan modifications, including expedites (pull ins), schedule push outs, and changes in requirements.
- Coordinates with cross-functional groups, as needed, to direct month end closing shipment activities.
Qualifications
MINIMUM:
- Bachelor's Degree and eleven (11) years experience in an Operations or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing environment
- Master's Degree and eight (8) years experience
- ERP system knowledge - SAP or Oracle
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED:
- Experience participating or facilitating SIOP in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in demand management or master scheduling, strongly preferred
- Experience working in electronics manufacturing environment and/ or Aerospace and Defense
- Able to drive actions across functional boundaries is fundamental to the role.
- Communication skills: ability to communicate across organizational levels, develop strong relationships and successfully influence others to act; ability to write reports and correspondence clearly and concisely; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and managers, internal and external customers;
- Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs;
- Analytical skills: Solid analytical skillset with ability to effectively review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form;
- Computer skills: working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel and Word software programs; working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as SAP; Intermediate to Advanced Excel experience, desired
- Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality;
