Summary
The Full-Time Café Manager – is responsible for leading Café Kitsuné Los Angeles in all areas of business operations at our Silverlake location.
The position is based in Los Angeles, reporting directly to the Brand & Operations Director.
The Café Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Product & Customer Service
- Deliver and maintain high quality cafe products - coffee, tea, baked goods etc
- Inventory management: Ensuring the cafe has the right supplies, such as takeaway cups, coffee, milk, and other ingredients
- Build and develope a loyal client base, by providing clients with individualized service.
- Grow customer base and increase store traffic by creating and leading promotions within and outside the store as well as maintaining functional, efficient, pleasant store environment and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
- Work closely with other café and retail locations to ensure the execution of a consistent brand experience.
Leadership and Team Organization
- Hire, train, and manage performance of all café staff.
- Ensure store appearance is maintained at all times, including café seating area, condiment bar, and FOH/BOH.
- Cascade communication from Headquarters to the appropriate team members and have excellent written and verbal store communications back to HQ. Ensure policy and procedure is being practiced at all levels of the operation. Communicate store goals to the team effectively and motivate others.
- Lead and model overall culture, values, mission, and spirit of the company. Be knowledgeable about the ideals and principles of Café Kitsuné and ensure that our story is appropriately conveyed by staff and store environment.
- Create, adjust, and implement training plans for new employees. Regularly observe and coach staff on their performance and celebrate successes as well as discuss and offer suggestions if more feedback is needed.
- With management team, perform annual employee reviews and conduct ongoing coaching and training sessions to ensure the highest level of performance is achieved.
- Help to create positive, enthusiastic, and well-trained store culture by providing an informed, honest, and optimistic example for the team. Respond appropriately to ideas, concerns, complaints, and comments from management and staff.
- Oversee and executes effective communication between baristas and team members to ensure that food and beverage offerings are fresh, labeled appropriately, and kept well-stocked. Guide direction of new seasonal food and beverage offerings and contributes any skills and ideas for new items.
- Ensures equipment functions properly and oversee equipment maintenance. Utilizes resources and available information to troubleshoot when equipment errors occur; respond in a timely and reasonable fashion to problems.
- Maintains, models, and coaches on speed of service and organizes employees to maintain the most efficient floorplan and deployment for serving customers.
Sales, Financial & Reporting Responsibility
- Responsible for daily financial reporting and management, maximizing sales and meeting profit goals.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with vendors to maintain business relationships and secure appropriate pricing.
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial duties and reporting are completed accurately, including all administrative tasks and payroll and personnel activities.
- Seek out ways to increase sales, monitor weekly and monthly P&L data, and work to increase bottom- line profits.
Physical Requirements
- In a cafe environment 100% of the time.
- The position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around the café
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs.
