What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Coordinator position at Calcareous Vineyard?
The Accounting Coordinator will perform complex clerical, bookkeeping and accounting assignments and prepare accounting summaries and financial reports. The individual in this position should be an extremely detailed, highly organized, bright, and adaptable individual who demonstrates professionalism and self-confidence. It is essential for the Accounting Coordinator to work efficiently and be comfortable with handling high-volume bookkeeping tasks for complex entities in a small, team-oriented environment.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain / Monitor all financial functions including but not limited to:
- Accounts Payable – receive, process and prepare all invoices for approval and payment
- Accounts Receivable – prepare, send, and track all invoices for wholesale distribution and custom crush, prepare bank deposits and make bank runs as needed
- Manage bank relationships including bank reconciliations, transfers, debt compliance and other matters
- Utilize in-house software to transfer sales data from POS to QuickBooks, accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory processes through Vintrace and coordinate with QuickBooks general ledger system
- Administer payroll function for the Company including preparation and remittance of all payroll taxes and reports
- Calculate and remit appropriate states’ sales taxes
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Administer Company’s qualified retirement plan including enrollment of new participants and communications with plan participants and the plan administrator
- Support the production and sales functions within the Company as requested by Company Owner Work with outside CPA and financial advisory firms to complete year-end financial and tax reporting on an accurate and timely basis
CANDIDATE SKILLS/ABILITIES Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures, including processing payroll
- Proficient in QuickBooks, MS Office Suite, and MS Excel, Ship Compliant/Sovos and Wine Direct/Commerce7
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment
- Efficient organizational and time management skills
- Extraordinary attention to detail
- Strong ability to multitask and be open-minded
- Winery-related experience - preferred
- Ability to reliably commute or permanently relocate to Paso Robles, CA 93446
