Description
Caldwell is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join their growing team. The Safety Representative will plan, direct, and implement the Caldwell safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties. Pay and Benefits are competitive.
- Inspects organization facilities and remote job sites to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Plans and implements programs to train employees in work site safety practices, fall protection, scaffolding, heavy equipment, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, equipment, and other materials.
- Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
- Represents the organization in client interactions and community programs.
- Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Conducts investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for Preload’s use in hearings, lawsuits, and investigations.
- Compiles and submits accident reports required by the organization and regulatory agencies.
- Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
- Maintains safety files and records.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish & English
- Tank construction experience, heavy construction safety experience, and/or a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR/First Aid, authorized OSHA OTI Construction Trainer, OSHA 30-Hour, or other similar safety certifications.
- Must be able to meet a demanding flexible travel schedule up to 80%.
- Have knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and PowerPoint, Word Processing software.
