Job DescriptionPosition: Food Service Worker Reports To: Director of Food Service Work Location: Twinfield School, Twinfield, VTSalary: Based on ExperienceFLSA Status: HourlyOur MissionIt is the mission of the Caledonia Central Supervisory Union and its seven member schools to create a learning community in which each individual can achieve the highest standards of excellence in intellectual growth and citizenship.Position SummaryThe school kitchen staff member is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students, following strict food safety guidelines, by prepping ingredients, cooking dishes according to established menus, maintaining a clean kitchen, and ensuring proper food storage while adhering to health and safety regulations. Key duties include food preparation, serving meals, cleaning workstations, maintaining inventory, dishwashing, and receiving deliveries and properly putting away. Key responsibilities: Food preparationPrepping ingredients like chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and measuring ingredients. Cooking meals according to established recipes and dietary restrictions.
Following proper food handling practices to prevent cross-contamination. Serving mealsPortioning food accurately and serving meals to students in a timely manner. Operating serving lines and ensuring proper food presentation. Kitchen sanitation Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Disposing of food waste properly. Inventory managementReceiving deliveries and checking food quality. Rotating stock to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage.
Maintaining accurate inventory records Compliance with regulations Adhering to local health and safety standards.
