Create Engaging and Educational Experiences for Students! Visions In Education is seeking a Charter School Events Secretary to support our Middle School and High School Academies. This position coordinates exciting student events and activities such as dances, theater outings, museums, college tours, regional events, sports days, roller skating, field trips and more. If you love planning events, organizing details, and creating memorable experiences for students in a dynamic, student-focused environment, this is the perfect role for you! What You'll Do: >Plan & Coordinate Events: Organize and oversee middle and high school student activities to build community. >Manage Office Operations: Perform a variety of clerical duties that support the overall function of the charter school office. >Handle Logistics & Budgets: Track event details, process paperwork, manage facility requests, and coordinate with vendors. >Support Students & Staff: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to create enriching opportunities for students. >Leverage Technology: Use tools like Google Workspace to streamline communication, scheduling, and organization (experience is a plus!). >Ensure Efficiency: Take initiative, exercise good judgment, and maintain strong organizational systems to support both event planning and daily office operations. - Graduation from high school or equivalent required. Some college, preferred. - Two years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial or clerical experience involving public contact, preferably in an educational setting. - Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and managing events. Please include application, resume, 2 letters of recommendation (if available) and cover letter. Please state clearly in your cover letter your experience that qualifies you for this position and why you want to work for Visions In Education Charter School. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION ARE NOT NECESSARY AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR INTERNAL CANDIDATES. In general, this position will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days at our office in Carmichael/Gold River, CA and 2 days remotely. However, this will not begin until the employee is fully trained. Depending upon the needs of the department this schedule is subject to change. Visions In Education offers a very generous, competitive benefits package that includes options for 100% employer-paid Medical/Dental/Vision (single), retirement (CalPERS), vacation (10 days), sick time and holiday (22 which includes 2 weeks of paid time off over the holiday season). Classified employees are eligible for educational reimbursement up to $15,000. (This benefit is provided so an employee can maintain and improve job-related skills for the employee's current position or enhance the employee's ability to qualify for other reasonably attainable jobs within Visions).
